🕌Salat (Salah) – The Foundation of a Muslim’s Daily Life
Salat (prayer) is one of the most important acts of worship in Islam and the second pillar of Islam. It is an obligation upon every adult Muslim and a direct means of connection between a servant and Allah ﷻ. Through Salat, a believer remembers Allah, seeks guidance, and finds peace and discipline in daily life.
Muslims are commanded to perform five daily prayers, each at its fixed time, as prescribed by Allah in the Quran and taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
What the Quran Says About Salat
Allah ﷻ says in the Holy Quran:
“Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers at fixed times.”
(Surah An-Nisa 4:103)
This verse clearly shows that Salat is an obligation and must be performed within its appointed times.
Hadith About the Importance of Salat
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The first matter that the servant will be brought to account for on the Day of Judgment is the prayer. If it is sound, the rest of his deeds will be sound.”
(Tirmidhi)
